International Student House (ISH) failed to communicate with the public honestly and mis-used their data, as a result complaints against them were filed to Advertising Standard Authority (ASA). Now this charity is on the complaint list of ASA which is widely available to the public FREE of Charge.
International Student House (ISH) also asked their residents to fill in a survey and return it to ISH (hope they are not planning mis-use this data
). ISH promised a trip to Istanbul as prize to one person (the winner of the draw), in order to increase number of correspondence.
The winner of this prize draw required visa to go to Istanbul and this gave trouble to ISH’s so called marketing team and they simply crossed out the name of the winner and selected another person to go to the trip (someone who doesn’t need to obtain a visa).
What is this called in reality? Anything other than discrimination and lack of management competent?
Below is the email sent by the “charity” sales and marketing manager to the person who chose the “winner”:
We have a bit of a problem with the winner – he needs a visa and he is unlikely to get that in time!! SO you are going to have to pick a runner up babe (who doesn’t need a visa) – He is going to check with the embassy today but it is unlikely that he will get it so don’t let anyone else know but you might want to start thinking about someone else!
